2008 International 14 North American Championships - Spectator Information

2006 I-14 Worlds If you are interested in watching some of the fastest and most difficult sailing in the world, right here in beautiful Newport County, you are in the right place. The International I4 is the oldest class in sailing, and yet it is also one of the toughest, fastest, and most technical.

If you can trouble yourself to go over just one bridge, then by far the best place to view the racing from land is a little-known out-cropping of rock at the south edge of Potter's Cove, in Jamestown. From here you will have a complete view of our primary race course. If you prefer to view from Newport, the best location (besides the navy base) is Washington St. Extension; from here you will be able to see the south end of the racecourse. Both areas would make for a great picnic.

Official start times will not be decided until the evening before the regatta. See the schedule after 7:30pm for the next day's scheduled first gun. In general, we anticipate racing to take place between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. However, the race committee may call for racing to start as early as 9am if necessitated by wind forecasts.
